The 1st Multidisciplinary Workshop on Nephrology Nursing was successfully held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, bringing together healthcare professionals from across Cyprus with the aim of exchanging knowledge, experiences, and best practices in the field of nephrology care. Through lectures and hands-on workshops, the event highlighted the importance of continuous education and professional development in nursing.
Our Center’s Senior Nursing Officer, Mrs. Ioanna Lakatamitou, participated as a speaker in the clinical workshop titled:
“The Use of Ultrasound in Vascular Access Cannulation for Hemodialysis.” The workshop aimed to enhance nurses’ practical skills and to showcase the vital role of technology in everyday clinical practice.
In her presentation, Mrs. Lakatamitou emphasized the importance of using ultrasound as a tool that enhances patient safety, reduces complications, and facilitates successful vascular access cannulation. She also underlined the value of ongoing education and specialization for nurses in modern hemodialysis techniques, contributing significantly to the improvement of care quality.
