Participation in the 31st Pancyprian Conference of Nurses and Midwives – December 2024

As part of the 31st Pancyprian Conference of Nurses and Midwives, Mrs. Ioanna Lakatamitou, Nefrontida Nephrology Center’s Senior Nursing Officer had the honor of participating with two presentations, focusing on key topics related to hemodialysis and the vital role of nurses in patient care.


The first presentation, titled “The Hemodialysis Patient: The Behind-the-Scenes Perspective,” highlighted the less visible aspects of caring for individuals undergoing hemodialysis, emphasizing their psychosocial and emotional needs.


The second presentation, “Mind the Gap: The Advanced Practice Nurse in the Hemodialysis Unit,” explored the role of the Advanced Practice Nurse, emphasizing their contribution to improving the quality of care and bridging gaps within the healthcare system.


Through these presentations, the goal was to underscore the importance of strengthening the nurse’s role and promoting a holistic approach to the care of patients with renal failure.
